Our approach to news is that is is rolling, and focused on deep dive stories (where possible), or analysis where not. On the ground reporting is of great importance to aiding understanding, and preferably by local people (if the locality is a core part of the story), or experts if the locality of the story is secondary to the actual story.
Each story is unique, and on-the-ground decisions, as well as editorial and budget will drive how the coverage works.
But we’re a lot more than that. Like the BBC, the remit is inform, educate and entertain. The latter part is important too, as it drives audiences.
